La Diferencia is an Italian-Peruvian duo based in Rome that explores new southern hemisphere electronic music. Their sets are selections of productions by non-Western or post-migrant artists and their related independent labels: a representation of the Global South and its infinite languages. From Afrofuturism to Latinofuturisms, a trans-modern sound research in the contemporary panorama of African and Latin American artists, to discover new enunciation spaces. The Afrofuturism cultural movement—which brought to the forefront the African diaspora and the legacy of slavery in relation to new media and technology—and the Latinofuturisms—which focus on migrations within and across the Americas and to Europe—represent an expression of self-determination and solidarity that shares a radical re-imagination of a collective future that subverts colonial binarism, by creating collective spaces to imagine and acst differently.
