Caffè letterario
Curated by the students of Rome’s high schools Torquato Tasso, Augusto Righi and Giulio Cesare
#Workshop
In January 2023, MACRO will host Caffè letterario, a collective reading program organized independently by a group of high school students in the city of Rome.
Caffè letterario was born from the need to create a place of open discussion in which it is possible to freely express oneself on different aspects of contemporary life and culture.
Having identified four thematic areas-history and politics, philosophy, current events, fiction-each month the students group proposes two polls, to collectively agree on theme and book to read.
The group will give themselves one month to read the chosen book and then meet in the MACRO’s teaching rooms to initiate a collective reading and discussion session.
In each reading session, the main topics that will be addressed during the reading will be introduced and then a horizontal discussion about the text and general issues inspired by it will be built.
A self-directed activity that stimulates debating skills, plurality of thought and critical consciousness.
The project is open to all people between the ages of 14 and 19. To participate, follow and write to the Instagram page: @caffeletterario_trg.
