The Department for Preventive Education, in collaboration with “Senza titolo”, presents an evening cycle of guided visits for adults and special visits for children, to discover the architecture of the museum, the exhibitions on view and contemporary art in general.

From June to September, three evening appointments offer simultaneous guided tours for adults and kids, suggesting a lively approach to the city and the museum also in the summer. Visitors can enjoy the museum in an itinerary of selected contents, approaches and modes of communication. 

The evening tours provide an opportunity for active exploration and participation, discovering the various sections of the Museum for Preventive Imagination, which is conceived as a three-dimensional magazine that takes form inside the architectural space designed by Odile Decq. Visitors young and old, step by step, led by art historians and museum educators, can discover how the past, present and future of the museum intertwine in a multidisciplinary range of themes, experiments, languages and poetics, for an open dialogue with the works of the artists and the many different forms of contemporary art.

Guided tour for adults and animated tour for children: SOLO/MULTI and REHEARSAL 

The June appointment of A summer evening at MACRO is dedicated to two sections of the exhibition program of the MIP – Museum for the Preventive Imagination: adults and children will discover the exhibitions of the rubrics SOLO/MULTI and REHEARSAL and delve into the themes of performance and sculptural practice. The tour will conclude with a workshop activity that allows young children to experience contemporary art practices and languages.

Guided tour for adults and animated tour for children: RETROFUTURE and ARRHYTHMICS

The July appointment of A summer evening at MACRO is dedicated to the reinterpretation of a collection and the relationship of contemporary artists with the city of Rome. The guided tour will start from RETROFUTURE for an immersion in a large installation of images and works in dialogue with the museum’s collection, it will continue in the ARRHYTHMICS section allowing to rediscover an artistic project born in Rome in 1989. At the same time, the animated visit dedicated to children will offer the opportunity to discover and actively experience the expressive potential of the art installation.

Guided tour for adults and animated visit for girls and children: CHAMBER MUSIC and BIBLIOGRAPHIC OFFICE

The September appointment of A summer evening at MACRO is with the sections CHAMBER MUSIC and BIBLIOGRAPHIC OFFICE: the encounter with the works on display will allow the public to reflect on the multidisciplinary nature of contemporary languages, and through the guided tours, adults and children alike will actively explore the museum confronting the expressive potential of art. The animated visit for children will include experiential activities and workshop exercises to experience the museum as protagonists.
