With Female Body. Politics of desire Maria Luisa Frisa interprets the portfolio “Le modelle segrete” by Gian Paolo Barbieri, published in Playmen in February 1971. Fashion and image, female body and desire, femininity and feminism: Playmen contributes to the introduction of the dimension of desire which is an integral part of the discursive and planning practices of fashion design in shared visual culture, starting from fashion photography.
Maria Luisa Frisa, critic and curator, is full professor at the IUAV University of Venice. She directs the magazine Dune: Scritture su moda, progetto e cultura visuale published by Flash Art.
