REwind/REcount, the series of encounters to listen to and re-examine stories of fundamental musicians and personalities of the Italian music scene (and elsewhere), returns on 9 July, at 19.00, with Abul Mogard, the alter ego of Guido Zen, an Italian musician residing in Rome. Together with Demented Burrocacao, sounds and stories retrace the career of the artist, who over the years has released various albums that have received great critical acclaim, as well as performing in prestigious festivals and international contexts.

ABUL MOGARD is the alter ego of Guido Zen, an Italian musician residing in Rome. Over the years he has released various albums that have gained critical acclaim, and he has performed at prestigious festivals and international locations, including Berlin Atonal in Berlin, Poesia En Voz Alta in Mexico City, Centre Pompidou in Paris, Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Condeduque in Madrid, Auditorium San Fedele in Milan and Southbank Centre in London. Commissioned by the festival Organ Reframed, he has composed a piece for pipe organ that was played at the Union Chapel in London with the London Contemporary Orchestra. He has created soundtracks for the films of Duncan Whitley Kimberlin and Phoenix City 2021, the latter commissioned by the Coventry Biennial. His best-known remixes include those for Carl Craig and Fovea Hex (with Brian Eno), both included in the favourites list of Mary Anne Hobbs (BBC). Mogard’s music has been used in films, TV shows, contemporary artworks and fashion shows, including the trailer of The Last Duel by Ridley Scott, the series The Gallows Pole by Shane Meadows for the BBC, and the Ferragamo fall/winter fashion show in 2024. Recent works include the albums Impossibly Distant, Impossibly Close in collaboration with Rafael Anton Irisarri, and In uno spazio immenso, in collaboration with Grand River. He has also worked with artists like KMRU, Colin Potter, CoH, Cindytalk and Massimo Pupillo.
